Muslim Scholorship Fund

The Muslim Scholarship Fund was established in March 2002 to assist Muslim undergraduate students in the pursuit of university degrees in fields in which Muslims are underrepresented. The Muslim Scholarship Fund seeks to cultivate student interest in the designated fields at the pre-collegiate and collegiate levels, and to contribute to the emergence of exceptional young professionals in the relevant career domains. The Fund provides annual "Progressive Muslim Scholarship" awards to needing students based on merit.

FIELDS: Any major in the Humanities; Social Sciences including Journalism, Political Science, Public Policy, and other majors

One (1) award of $5,000 to one undergraduate student

The eligible student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident

Furthermore, he or she must have attended high school in the U.S. or Canada

Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in a four-year accredited U.S. university. Students must have completed their freshman year by Fall of the year in which the award is received. Entering college freshman are not eligible to apply.

Students must be enrolled in or intend to enroll in a major that addresses the fields designated for the scholarship.

Students applying for the scholarship must be from a household in which the total combined household income was less than $52,837. (calculated from 2001 U.S. household income statistics for a typical family of five).
